Dr. Timothy Davis has been building and expanding patient focused pharmacy practices for over a decade. His experience ranges from the design and construction of clean rooms, compounding laboratories, community pharmacies, pharmacy management software, and adherence technology.
Dr. Davis received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy following a Bachelors of Science in Neuroscience from the same University. He began his educational career in a biomedical engineering program at Carnegie Mellon University.
He guest lectures at the University of Pittsburgh on pharmacoenconomics, pharmacy business design, and patient focused care systems. He has held numerous national positions including Chairman of the McKesson Independent Advisory Board, Chairman of the National Community Pharmacists Association Committee for Technology & Innovation, Board of Directors American Society for Automation in Pharmacy, Chairman of the Pitt School of Pharmacy Alumni Association and the Health Mart Marketing Advisory Board. Dr. Davis has just finished serving on the eHIT Collaborative Workgroup helping to design the roadmap for inclusion of pharmacy practice in the nation’s electronic health strategy. He served on the White House PDMP Workgroup gathered to implement a national design for tracking and sharing of controlled substance prescription drug data.
Dr. Davis has been featured in numerous industry publications and cover stories concerning his patient focused use of technology, including Pharmacy Times, Pharmacy Today, America’s Pharmacist, and Drug Topics. His expertise has been resourced and quoted in USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Beaver County Times. Of the many awards he has received over the years, he is most proud of being named the Next Generation Pharmacist in Technology by Parata and Pharmacy Times.
